Technology

Nakymatone speakers use our patented CRT© (Controlled Resonance Technology) to convert an ordinary wall or ceiling surface into the acoustic radiator. A compact actuator unit bonds directly to the back of the finished surface and sets it into controlled vibration, producing sound across the full surface rather than from a single point. The result is a wide, enveloping soundfield with no visible hardware.

Nakymatone speakers work with standard drywall (gypsum board) at any finish level — including Level 5 — as well as plaster, wallpaper, laminates, leather, and thin wood panels. The finish coat has no meaningful impact on sound quality, provided any added layer stays within 1/16 inch (approx. 1.5 mm) of the speaker's bonding surface. Very thick masonry walls or surfaces backed by dense insulation are not suitable. If you're unsure about your specific construction type, contact us before purchasing and we can advise.

At equivalent price points, Nakymatone panels match or exceed the sound quality of conventional in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The large radiating surface produces a natural, room-filling sound with excellent stereo imaging and low listening fatigue. The flagship Echt model, in particular, is designed to satisfy audiophile expectations. Bass extension below approximately 60 Hz requires a companion subwoofer such as the Laag or Base.

Traditional in-wall and in-ceiling speakers — including popular brands such as Sonance, Klipsch, and similar — use conventional cone drivers mounted behind grilles that remain visible on the wall or ceiling surface. Nakymatone's CRT© technology eliminates the grille entirely: the wall or ceiling itself becomes the radiating surface. Key differences:

  1. Zero visible hardware — no grille, no cutout, no trim ring.
  2. 180° × 180° dispersion — full-spectrum sound radiates in every direction within a room, versus the narrower throw of a point-source cone driver.
  3. Integrated back boxes — acoustic chambers are built into every model, preventing sound bleed into adjacent rooms without the need for separate back-box accessories.
  4. One-piece simplicity — overload protection, HPF circuit, and speaker wire locking connector are all built in; no outboard components are required.
  5. Category-leading performance — full-spectrum response within 2 dB, without requiring EQ correction.
Installation

Both are possible. New construction is the easiest route — the actuator unit is mounted to the framing before drywall is hung, speaker wire is run, and the surface is finished over the top. Retrofit installation requires cutting an access opening, mounting the unit from the back of the existing drywall, and patching the surface. Our Pre-Mount Kit simplifies rough-in for new builds by letting you fix the speaker location before you've chosen your final model.

All Nakymatone invisible models include integrated back boxes — there is no separate enclosure to fit inside the wall or ceiling cavity. The speaker mounts directly to standard stud or joist framing. Because the back box is built in, acoustic performance is predictable and consistent regardless of the cavity behind the wall, with no sound bleed into adjacent spaces.

The key finishing requirement is that the finished surface must remain within 1/16 inch (approx. 1.5 mm) of the speaker's bonding surface. Standard drywall at any level (including Level 5), wallpaper, plaster, laminates, leather, and thin wood panels all meet this requirement. No structural modifications are required — installation is similar to any standard in-wall speaker, fitting between existing framing members.

All Nakymatone invisible models share the same footprint, so the Pre-Mount Kit can be installed during rough-in before the final model is selected.

No. The speaker mounts between existing studs or joists without cutting through or removing any structural members. The process involves an opening in the drywall skin only — load-bearing framing is never compromised. This is the same approach used for any standard in-wall electrical box, HVAC vent, or in-wall speaker installation.

Yes. Because the speaker surface is completely flush with the finished wall, it can be repainted, re-wallpapered, or refinished exactly like the surrounding surface. Normal paint layers and standard wallpaper are well within the 1/16-inch depth limit and have no meaningful effect on sound performance. There is no visible seam or hardware to work around.

We recommend installation by an authorized dealer or a qualified A/V integrator, particularly for multi-room systems. The electrical work (running speaker cable, connecting to an amplifier) is straightforward for any licensed electrician or A/V technician. The drywall patching step requires standard finishing skills. Our installation guide covers the full process step by step.

Nakymatone invisible speakers are passive and work with any standard amplifier or A/V receiver — no special amplification is required. All models present a nominal 8 Ω impedance load (the Base is 6 Ω). Match the amplifier's per-channel power rating to the speaker's maximum power handling — for example, the Echt is rated for up to 80 W, so an amplifier delivering 40–80 W per channel is ideal. Any quality home theater or whole-home audio amplifier will work.

Built-in overload protection is included on every model: the speaker automatically mutes the signal by 15 dB when an amplifier clips, then auto-resets when a clean signal is restored — protecting both the speaker and your ears without any outboard limiters.

For multi-zone or commercial distributed audio systems, our Zero-Ohm product family connects any number of speakers in parallel without transformers, and handles long cable runs without impedance or power distribution concerns. Contact us for amplifier guidance specific to your project.

Products & Pricing

Nakymatone invisible speakers are positioned as a premium product, priced to reflect the engineering, integrated back box, built-in protection circuitry, and Canadian manufacturing quality. Entry-level invisible models start from around USD $845 per speaker, with flagship models in the USD $1,700–$1,900 range. The Pre-Mount Kit carries a suggested retail price of USD $115.

Final project pricing — including quantities, amplification, cable, and installation — is quoted by your authorized dealer. Contact us and we'll connect you with a dealer who can provide a full project estimate for your space.

For a primary listening room or home cinema, the Echt is our recommendation — its aluminium honeycomb core delivers the widest frequency response and highest power handling in the range. For a secondary zone or a room where space above the ceiling is limited, the Naky at only 57 mm deep is an excellent choice. Pair any model with the Laag subwoofer for full-range home theater performance.

Nakymatone speakers are sold exclusively through authorized dealers — luxury home builders, A/V integrators, and hospitality fit-out specialists. This ensures you receive professional system design advice and correct installation. If there is no dealer in your area yet, contact us and we will connect you with the nearest partner or discuss direct project supply.

The current product range is designed for indoor use in standard residential and commercial environments. Bathrooms and spa areas with controlled humidity are acceptable. Direct outdoor exposure, unventilated high-moisture environments, or areas subject to temperature extremes are not recommended. If you have a specific project requirement, please get in touch and we can advise on suitability.

Purchasing Process

Here's how a typical Nakymatone project unfolds from first interest to invisible sound:

  1. Explore. Browse the product pages to understand the range. Note the rooms you want to cover and your intended use (background music, home cinema, whole-home audio).
  2. Contact us. Reach out with your project details — room sizes, construction type (new build or retrofit), and budget range. We'll point you to the right products and connect you with a local authorized dealer or A/V integrator.
  3. Design & quote. Your dealer produces a system design — which models, how many speakers per room, amplification, and wiring plan — and provides a full project quote. There's no obligation at this stage.
  4. Rough-in. During construction, the Pre-Mount Kit (or the speakers themselves) are mounted to framing and speaker cable is run — just like any in-wall speaker. Your drywall team finishes over the top with no visible hardware.
  5. Commission. Once the room is finished, the system is connected and tested. Your dealer handles any tuning. You're left with invisible, room-filling sound and walls that look exactly as your designer intended.

Yes — authorized Nakymatone dealers can arrange demonstrations at their showroom or at an existing installation. Because invisible speakers are a significant project commitment, we strongly encourage hearing them in person before specifying. Contact us to find the nearest dealer with a demo installation in your area.

Service & Warranty

All Nakymatone invisible speakers carry a 10-year replacement warranty that includes a labor credit — covering the cost of accessing and re-installing a replacement unit, not just the part itself. If a speaker needs to be replaced, a section of drywall is removed, the unit is swapped for a warranty replacement, and the surface is patched and refinished. All Nakymatone invisible models share the same footprint, which simplifies the process further.

Your authorized dealer coordinates warranty service on your behalf. If you need assistance, contact us directly and we will make sure you're taken care of.
